5.0 from local homeowners

This Vortex Pro 3 whole-home water filter, finished in a custom Monument housing, was installed at a brand new Tallwood-built beachfront home in Dunsborough.

The owners had just moved into their new home when they got in touch, having been recommended to us directly by their Tallwood builder. It’s an impressive, multi-level home built into a sloped beachfront block, with glass balustrades, timber cladding and boulder retaining walls along the street frontage. Having invested heavily in a build of this scale, the owners were well aware of how hard the mains water supply is in Dunsborough and wanted to protect that investment from day one, rather than wait for scale and sediment to start taking a toll on their new plumbing, tapware and fixtures.

Anti-scale protection built in from the start

We recommended, supplied and installed a Vortex Pro 3 whole-home filtration system, fitted with our final-stage Dura Scale X cartridge in place of the standard configuration. This gives the system dedicated anti-scale protection on top of its usual sediment and carbon filtration, targeting the hard water minerals responsible for scale build-up on shower screens, tapware and hot water systems.

For a new home, this means the owners get cleaner, better-tasting water from every tap from the outset, while their new fittings, appliances and hot water system are protected from the effects of Dunsborough’s hard water for years to come. The installation was plumbed in on the mains supply with copper pipework run down to an isolation valve and the property’s water meter, keeping everything neat and fully accessible for future servicing.

A custom finish to match the home

We initially installed the system in our standard white housing. Once it was in, the owners felt a Monument finish would sit better against their dark timber paling fence and the established kangaroo paw garden bed running along it, so we had a Monument housing produced and swapped it in within two weeks of the original installation.

The result is a system that performs exactly the same but blends far more naturally into the outdoor space, tucked in among the greenery rather than standing out in white against the fence.
